Khoa Sup’s Triple Vision | Behind the Lensman’s Favorite Snaps
Meet Khoa, Can Tho’s shining star with the camera. He’s a decade into his vibrant photography career, having begun capturing the world’s beauty since his university days. A gift of a camera from his parents sparked his journey, and it’s been a whirlwind of glamour and excitement ever since. From the glitz of the Ho Chi Minh City fashion scene to the dazzle of events like the Miss Grand 2024, Bangkok Fashion Week, the International Supercar Parade, to capturing the allure of celebrities and KOLs, Khoa doesn’t miss a beat.
#1. Against The Odds
“An image is not about the equipment, it’s about the moment it freezes forever.” Khoa discovered this while sailing with the bravest of fishermen during their yearly journey to the Nghinh Ong 2024 Festival in Can Gio. This snapshot, a bold portrayal of fishing boats daringly leaving the comfort of their harbor amid a storm, embodies the courage and grit of these seafarers. “It was an unforgettable ride. I patiently waited for hours to seize that flawless shot of sea foam in flight. Each time I gaze at this photo, I’m taken back to that exhilarating feeling of challenging the sea,” Khoa shares with an infectious enthusiasm.
#2. The Three of Us
Another of Khoa’s photos captures a heartwarming reunion and features the stunning Micka Chu. Having previously worked together on a fashion shoot, they crossed paths again – this time, as Micka and her husband eagerly awaited the arrival of their first baby. Khoa reminds us of the infectious energy radiating from the photo, “Don’t you just feel the joy jumping off the image? Genuine happiness has a way of transcending the frame, whether it’s a photograph or a real-life moment.”
#3. A Slice of Life
When he’s not crafting high-fashion photo projects, Khoa savors capturing the simple, spontaneous moments of true joy. This shot, for instance, captures his bestie Nguyet Minh and her hubby, caught in a candid moment at Can Tho Floating Market. “See how the unscripted, the authentic, makes for the perfect image? A white Ao Dai, white flowers, a sampan, the scenic Can Tho River, and a local in his boat,” Khoa shares with a twinkle in his eye. “That’s the essence I chase — the raw simplicity that best mirrors real life’.”
